Minutes of Last Meeting

Approved.

Matters Arising

Pete has arranged for our three Wednesday evening trails to be held at Don’s, with the Club providing its own barbecue.  We will be paying £5 per rider to the land owner and charging £1 per item for food.  The dates are on the website (10th June, 8th July and 19th August).

Richard has updated our Club trial entry form, to include a disclaimer regarding photographs of minors being published in the Club magazine and website.

The date for the Old Codger has been rearranged for Sunday 4th October, its traditional date, but will be held at Bagshot South.  This land is particularly good for observers as it is a long run up to the sections so, if they take their own bikes, they will have a chance to have some fun.

Richard thanked Jo and Pete for organizing the Seventies party to replace the Dinner Dance, where a good time was had by all who attended.

A new marquee has been purchased at a cost of £125.78.

A cheque in the sum of £24.00 has been sent to the Smith family for winning the Club logo competition.

Secretary’s Report

Jan had been contacted by Burgess Hill Motorcycle Club, a road riding club, regarding a possible get together one Sunday.  This has been arranged for 10th May; meet at Godstone for a ride out together to the Robin Hood pub, Tunbridge Wells.  If the event is a success we may arrange others.

Treasurer’s Report

There is £12637.21 in the Tracker account and £832.05 in the Current account.  Jo plans to keep the amount in the current account slightly higher than before to cover cheques going out and to avoid incurring bank charges.

Editor’s Report

Debbie received plenty of copy for the Club magazine, with some articles being carried over to the next publication.  Unfortunately, due to production issues the magazine has not yet been published but we hope it will be circulated before the next trial.

Membership Secretary’s Report

Not present.

Competition Secretary’s Report

Our last Club trial was held at Don’s.  It was a good trial but Pete felt the blue route was a bit too easy.  Our next trial will be held at Hookwoods on 17th May.

The annual Team Trial is taking place at Crowborough on 7th June and members are invited to put themselves forward so that RRND can field as many teams as possible.

Social Secretary’s Report

Jo and Pete thanked those who attended the Seventies party that they hosted on 28th March.

Debbie and Carol put forward the idea of a Murder Mystery evening, perhaps at the Camping Weekend?

Camping Weekend

The main point of contact for this event will be Jo Jenkins and she will contact Roy Enticknap to book the land and Antony Read to book the marquee.                                  JJ

The four portaloos have been booked.

Jo suggested providing a huge chilli or curry on the Friday evening instead of the traditional take away.

Jo will contact the chap who did last year’s Race Night to see if he is available for this year.                                                                                                                                                      JJ

Any Other Business

Dave Charman has spoken to Chris Roos regarding the availability of a suitable bike for use at our Training Trials.  He does have a bike for sale at a cost of £600 but we feel it may be too powerful for beginners.  The Jenkins and the Smewings have a Honda 50cc trials bike which they will initially lend to the Club for use at the Training Trials to see if it is suitable.

Date of Next Meeting

Wednesday 3rd June 2009 at the Home Cottage, Redstone Hill, Redhilll.
