Outstanding- DC to report on Reigate Societies Group
membership- carried forward to Sept.
Secretary’s
position/ current correspondence/ matters arising
It was noted that Jan (Smewing)
had decided to step down from the committee. A letter was circulated to the
committee outlining Jan’s reasons for wishing to do so. The committee noted the
huge amount of excellent work done by Jan in this position and recorded their
thanks. The minutes for this meeting as the previous one were to be prepared by
the chairman. A request was circulated with the newsletter for nominations for
this position.
Treasurer’s Report
The current balance was £246.31 with £12637.21 in the tracker. Last trials varied in cost coverage. Costs were given with an average profit of £30- this having ten to pay for any other monthly costs such as the magazine.
Editor’s Report
The specimen e letter had been well received. A company was able to offer an excellent circulation service and this avenue was to be explored. The committee was concerned that it was not possible to circulate hard copy to all members who might require it as a recent membership list was still awaited.
Membership Secretary’s Report
Again not
present and nothing heard. There had been complaints that recent members had
not received cards or any acknowledgement. The most recent list available
appeared to date from February. It was noted that the Mem.
Sec. had asked for contact details to be removed from the web site? Lack of up
to date details were hindering all aspects of the club and causing lack of
confidence in the club by new members. The committee asked the Chairman to
write to the mem sec re the current situation.
Competition Secretary’s Report
Prospective
dates and venues were discussed, subsequently revisited in the light of the
following item. Dates venues to be confirmed and put on website.
Old Codger Trial.
Full
discussion re Old Codger led to decision that event will be cancelled this
year. Discussion took into accounts
comments from Clerk Of Course (NL) but there were concerns re venue and profit
of this years event. Also concerns re observers.
Final
arrangements discussed. No training trial in August.
EC gave
resume of excellent 4
day trial at La Cruese, Sardent,
Lomoges. It was noted club member Jo Beard had one
premier award at Timber Woods LDT.
