Horam Trial, 29th February

Derek Tickner-Wand and myself have already been down to this land to have a good look around. If we have another big turn out of members then parking could be a bit tight, but if everyone parks considerately then there won't be a problem.

At the end of the car parking area is a large flat grass field. Ride across and then bear right across another large flat field. From here you will see the first section at the top of the hill in the next uphill field. From here the sections will continue round in an anti clockwise manner.

The whole trial is about 800 yards away from the car park so take plenty of fuel as it's a long way to walk even if it is fairly flat!. The sections will start off in a bomb crater type area and hopefully end up on some large banks for some full throttle action which I know everyone will enjoy As we have not used this land before we will definitely have a compulsory lunch break after 2 laps so any sections not up to our high standards can be altered accordingly. This land is perfect for kids to ride between sections safely on nice smooth grass. Please avoid the sheep if there are any in the same field as you.

How to get there

Take the A22 south to Uckfield until the A26 crosses your path. Turn left up the A26 go 1 mile then turn right on the A272. Follow the A272 to a T junction with the A267. Turn right on the A267 and head for Heathfield. The A 267 forks right to Horam so follow the road to Horam. Before you get into Horam village look out for R.R.N.D. signs sending you right, into the lane that lead to the trial I will use lots of markers so no one should miss any of the turnings!

Don't park in the wood yard but follow the track down about 100 yards to our own parking area, It may look a bit muddy but there is a solid surface underneath. One last thing, please do not practice or ride on the surrounding fields and keep to recognised tracks. Thank you.
