Committee Jottings

There are to be changes to the way the ACU charges members next year. More details are in Antony's article but essentially riders will have to register with the ACU and show their registration card at each trial in order to ride. This will reduce the work the committee has to do but will mean it is the responsibility of each rider to get their own registration. Club fees will he adjusted to accommodate this.

The ACU may have introduced the FIM rules for the running of Star Croup Trials but it seems that most observers either don't understand them or don't want to and are still marking under the old rules. The ACU may well have a false impression on how well the rules have been implemented.

Our own Star Group Trial is approaching fast and volunteers will be needed to help out, so if you are available please offer your services to one of the committee members and save someone a phone bill by having to ring round to find people to help.

It has been decided that this year the Dinner Dance may be down-graded to a meal in a pub/restaurant. Not enough people seem to be interested to make the Dinner Dance a viable option. More details will be available later when they have been finalised.

There will be another clearing session at Don's on 12th November. Lets hope the weather is better than the last session. All volunteers would be welcome and as a thank you will be able to practice in the afternoon free of charge.
