If You Ride ACU Events - Read This

From 1st January 2001 all participants in ACU permitted trials will be required to be Affiliated Members of the ACU and to include the Affiliated Membership number on all event entry forms. Trials riders may apply for Affiliated Membership (Registration) by completing the appropriate sections of the Application form and submitting the form to the ACU HQ with appropriate fee of £5.00 (we have sent the form out with this Newsletter to all current ACU members).

PLEASE NOTE if you intend to enter ACU trials next year you will need to register and show your ACU Membership card when signing on at the start of the trial. If you intend to ride in the January Star Group trial then do not delay, apply immediately to ensure you receive your Membership in time to enter.

For those of you who have been riding trials for some time will know that we used to have to have an annual license of which the cost was about £20. This was scrapped and a levy applied to each rider at each trial instead. But because trials riders no longer register with the ACU they do not have a list of riders and so have introduced the Affiliated Membership which will be compulsory, no membership means no ride. The levy will still apply but the £2 per member the Club has been paying to the ACU is being dropped. The Club will instead pay an Annual fee of £20 for up to 99 members. This means that from Jan 2001 we will not be charging extra for members to belong to the ACU Club as well as the AMCA Club and all members unless they request otherwise will automatically become members of both Clubs.
