The Ogri Café

On Sunday 8th October a few of us hardy Harley riders went for a twisty/hilly rideout. Although it had chucked it down the day before the day was without rain, reasonably dry under wheel, not too cold and at times quite sunny. Not a bad day for October in England! We also learnt how to pass horse riders safely, well we had lots of practise anyway!

We went eventually to the Ogri café in Horam, on the A267 East of Uckfield, in the middle of what is now known as the East Sussex flood plain. The café and shop are based on the cartoon biker Ogri. Some of you may be aware of the character’s legendary hatred of non-biker friendly road users, such as Volvos drivers.

The people are friendly and there is a healthy mix of Harleys and lesser bikes. The place is well worth a visit if you are in the area; it’s just off the main street and not hard to find. I hope to lead a breakfast rideout there next year.

The photo is of me saving Sue from eating two Armageddon burgers.
